SU's Carolyn Lepre and Christy Weer named among Maryland's Top 100 Women in 2025

Salisbury University President Carolyn Ringer Lepre and Dr. Christy Weer, the dean of the Perdue School of Business, have been named among the top 100 women in Maryland by BridgeTower Media and The Daily Record, a Baltimore-based newspaper.

This is the second time both women have been recognized by BridgeTower Media's annual list. Lepre was previously recognized on the 2023 list while Weer was recognized in 2021.

Lepre became the 10th SU President in 2022 and was also included in The Daily Record's list of Maryland's Most Admired CEOs and its Higher Education Power List.

“Receiving this accolade is incredibly meaningful, but what means the most to me is being included on a list with so many incredible women, including Dr. Weer," Lepre said in a press release. "Together, we are working to strengthen Maryland’s educational institutions, healthcare facilities, businesses, government operations and much more.”

Dr. Weer became the dean of Perdue School of Business in 2015 after serving as the school's interim dean a year prior. Leadership Maryland also announced her among the Executive Program's Class of 2025.

“It is a privilege to again be named one of Maryland’s Top 100 Women,” said Dr. Weer in a press release. “I am proud to serve our students and community and even more excited about the growth I have witnessed in the Perdue School over the past decade-plus. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for the Perdue School and for SU.”

This year's edition of the award is also a part of Bridgetower Media's 30th Anniversary of the Top 100 Women recognition. An award ceremony is currently scheduled for May 5 at Towson University.
