Salisbury University now has a ninth dining location in Perdue Hall.
Books & Bread offers sandwiches and acai bowls Monday through Thursday, aiming to become a new quick and flexible dining spot for students and faculty.
Here’s a look into the new sub and acai shop at SU:
What’s New?
· Students and faculty can choose from six different acai bowls and select their own toppings from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
· Seven hot and cold sandwiches that are available as a sub, wrap or salad from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
· Two quesadilla options have been added, but customer can also build their own.
Why Now?
Assistant Director of Dining Services Kevin Kessler said the deli and acai bowl stations at the Commons Dining Hall tend to be busy when open. Dining services decided to use that feedback to create another fast and convenient shop for students.
What They’re Saying:
“We want the students, faculty and staff to have satisfaction and convivence for their lifestyle,” Kessler said. “If they’re headed across campus and they want to go to commons to the deli but their stressed for time, they can just pop in there.”
What Others are Saying:
“I really like the new place,” SU student Sydney Beard said. “A lot of my classes are in Perdue, so it's something easy for me to get.”
On the Agenda
· A sandwich contest will allow students, faculty and staff to submit their own sandwich creations.
· Students will vote on the winning sandwich, and it will be named after the creator.
