CAC rebrands to Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference

The Capital Athletic Conference has a new name: the Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference.

The name stems from the conference being the only collegiate conference to have members spanning from the Atlantic to Pacific coasts.

“I am excited with the new C2C identity and offer a sincere thank you to Skye Dillon for his leadership, creativity and professionalism throughout the process,” said Chris Roekle, the commissioner of the C2C, in a news release. “I would also like to thank the rebranding committee, whose insight helped us in reaching our modern design which will serve our nationwide membership well for years to come.”

The rebrand comes after adding six institutions as full members of the conference: University of California Santa Cruz, Finlandia University, Mills College, Mount Mary University, Pine Manor College and Pratt Institute.

The C2C will consist of 11 full-time members for the 2020-21 academic year: University of California-Santa Cruz, Christopher Newport University (Va.), Finlandia University (Mich.), University of Mary Washington (Va.), Mills College (Calif.), Mount Mary University (Wisc.), Pine Manor College (Mass.), Pratt Institute (N.Y.), St. Mary’s College of Maryland, Salisbury University and Southern Virginia University.

The C2C Conference will feature postseason tournaments that determine the winner of the conference’s automatic bid. It will also utilize the Massey Ratings (a scale that considers wins, losses, convincing wins, strength of schedule and more) to determine postseason rankings.
