Kitten Kafe, located on 302 Kay Avenue in Salisbury, has helped rescue cats in Wicomico County since May 2023. They also work to get the rescued cats adopted into loving homes.

Why it matters:
Kitten Kafe helps to rescue and rehabilitate cats that come into their care.
Without the help of Kitten Kafe, there would be many cats in the area who do not have a home.
What they’re saying:
Melissa Goodyear works at the Kitten Kafe and is a foster mom.
“It’s just very rewarding to see kittens who didn’t really have a future end up in loving homes,” Goodyear said. “They end up in shelters where they’re not really given the opportunity to socialize.
“Through here, they are able to socialize and get healthy.”
Ashlee Plotts also works at the Kitten Kafe and is a foster mom.
“I think our biggest factor of why we’re important does involve mental health,” Plotts said. “This is a place that people can come and bring exactly who they are.
“I think the Kafe is a very important place for the community.”
The bigger picture:
Kitten Kafe is making a positive impact on the cats and in the community.
It is a positive environment where you can go to socialize, play with cats and much more.
What’s Next?
Kitten Kafe will be at The Centre at Salisbury shopping mall on Black Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Located in the mall in front of Burlington, there will be a special 10% off adoption fee for black cats.
Regular visiting hours are on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
