The SU football team is making history this year, ranking in at No. 6 in the country which has been the teams highest rank since 2019.
The team is currently on a six-week winning streak, winning against highly ranked teams that defeated them last year. Now with wins against major schools like Muhlenberg, Christopher Newport and Johns Hospkins, the Salisbury football team is ready to win it all.
This streak has caused the team to gain quite a bit of attention. This attention has brought in an abundance of new media coverage opportunities ranging from D3 podcasts, calls from D3 football.com and a rise of student support with the return of tailgates.
The teams most recent focus is the upcoming homecoming game against Rowan. Salisbury will compete against Rowan tomorrow at 1:00 p.m.
“They know what they want to do and what they want to do isn’t going to be until January,” Assistant Athletic Director for Communications & Sports Information Heath Barringer said. “They want to go compete for a national title.”
If the Salisbury football team continues this winning streak, they will go down in SU history.
“It’ll be big,” said Barringer, “I think they’ve got a chance of remaining undefeated.”
