Salisbury University is expected to host its regular Student Involvement Fair tomorrow at 2 p.m. indoors in the Guerrieri Student Union. The event will conclude the Welcome Week activities.
Incoming and returning students can attend to meet representatives of registered student organizations. Clubs in attendance will be able to share when they meet and why they might appeal to students.
Sophomore AJ Polcari stressed the importance of students attending the fair and finding organizations to get involved with. As SGA’s Director of Student Outreach, he discovered the Student Orientation Programs and became an orientation leader. He also discovered SUTV, which provided him a network to Sea Gull Sports Network where he now works.
“It’s important for students to jump into that involvement right away, whether they transferred or they’re freshmen, getting involved is important,” Polcari said. “I give tours for orientation and one thing I tell students all the time: college sucks when you don’t do anything.
When you go to class and go home and don’t do anything, it’s no fun.”
The Student Involvement Fair is typically held at the end of the first week of classes every semester. Due to inclement weather causing students to take virtual classes for the first academic week of the spring semester, some welcome week activities– including the involvement fair– were postponed to this week.
In addition to all the other student organizations, students can also expect to see representatives of The Flyer in attendance.
